Bordeaux Short Breaks Gets Dressed Up For A Night Out!

In our recently posted blog exploring Bordeaux’s famous wine production Bordeaux Short Breaks stumbled upon the fantastic wine bar, aptly named, Le Wine Bar! We recently received news from Le Wine Bars’ Emmanuel that they have had a re-launch of their website, www.lewinebar-bordeaux.com and also they are now open for lunch, which here at Bordeaux Short Breaks we are very much looking forward to tasting!

The news of Le Wine Bars’ re-launch inspired us here at Bordeaux Short Breaks to adventure out after dark and see what else is on offer in Bordeaux.

Absolut Lounge is considered a bar to “see and be seen in” within Bordeaux’s nightlife community. At any time it will be filled shoulder to shoulder with Bordeaux’s fashion elite, which of course here at Bordeaux Short Breaks we mingle well with! The main drink of choice here is an extravagant cocktail, which of course come in an array of colours and flavours, the music of choice is house, techno and electro-jazz and after having a taste of the extravagant cocktails there is a dance floor for you to ‘lay down some moves’ to !

On a completely different tone, Café Brun, is a warming, comfortable, laid back jazz bar – but still very cool! Within the Cafe you will find the usual suspects drink wise; wine by the glass or bottle and draft beer, but they also boast a grand selection of beautiful Bordeaux whiskeys. What Bordeaux Short Breaks loves about the Café Brun though is the music; they have live music here every Thursday and Sunday that is always well received by the crowd.

Unusually one of Bordeaux Short Breaks most loved establishments in the French city of Bordeaux is the Spanish bar Bodega Bodega! Situated over two floors in the Rue Sainte- Catherine district of Bordeaux, Bodega Bodega is a much loved local tapas bar. The downstairs, where you walk into, is the main bar area and as such is much more boisterous then the upstairs, but both serve wonderful Spanish cuisine and wine!

If you wanted to take time out from the bar culture of Bordeaux to enjoy some fine local food then you will find Fernand situated next to the Place Royale De La Bouse. Serving up traditional items such as Snails A La Bordelaise that you would come to expect from a well reviewed French Bistro, Fernand is certainly a find Bordeaux Short Breaks is proud of! If visiting in the summer dining on the Fernand terrace is a most, whilst enjoying the delicious food you can enjoy the sights and sounds of Bordeaux – c’est magnifiques!
